COVID-19 : DELIVERY OF ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

Dear students,

We hope you and your loved ones are continuing to keep safe during this difficult time.

The Ministry of Higher Education in a circular dated 27th May 2020, has announced that certain groups of higher education students will be allowed to return to their campuses in stages, pending the easing of the conditional movement control order.

This will begin from 1st July 2020.

Following these guidance, ATI students who may return to campus will include final year, final semester, and first year Certificate, Pre-U, Diploma, and Bachelor’s Degree students who need to carry out clinical work or practical training in laboratories, workshops, and design studios, or who require specialized equipment to complete their projects.

For all other students, we have made arrangements to continue supporting you through full online learning activities until 31st December 2020. If you are experiencing any challenges with remote learning, please contact our IT Helpdesk.

For students who are returning to campus from 1st July 2020, your respective faculties will update you on your lesson plans and schedules soon.

As we continue to priorities your safety and wellbeing, please take note of the following guidelines when returning to campus. Please do check your ATI e-mail for further details about your respective campus’ operations.

  1. Arrangements will be made so that different groups of students will return to campus at different times. This is to support social distancing, and where possible, we will timetable to minimize how often students will need to return to campus.

  2. Body temperature scanning and registration for contact tracing is mandatory and will be implemented at all campus entry points.

  3. Do take note that some entrances will remain closed until further notice, so do plan to arrive earlier to avoid being late for your lessons.

  4. Hand sanitizers will be made available when in campus. Frequent cleaning of classrooms and common areas will also be scheduled daily.

  5. Please refer to your ATI e-mail for details on campus operations including the library, cafeterias and eateries, and administrative offices.

  6. Continue to practice social distancing as much as possible, and wear a mask both during your journey to and from, and while on campus.

  7. Practice good hygiene by washing your hands frequently or using hand sanitizers. Also, avoid touching your face.

  8. Should you feel unwell when on campus, contact the emergency response team immediately. Contact details are provided in your ATI e-mail.

  9. Avoid returning to campus if you are feeling unwell and seek medical attention as soon as possible.

  10. Keep your faculty and student services department informed on your condition so that we can continue to support you as well as other students and staff as best possible.

We are also mindful of the financial challenges you and your families may be facing at this time, and will do our best to provide options and targeted financial aid to support you in your academic journey. If we could be of assistance in this way, please contact the scholarship office to schedule a discussion.

As we strengthen our understanding and response to the challenges of this global pandemic, do keep in mind that we are in this together. Individually and collectively we all play a part in supporting and keeping one another safe, both physically and emotionally.

We offer our sincere appreciation to our lecturers and staff who continue to teach, engage and support our students during this difficult period. They have remained committed to serving you in spite of their own concerns, and will continue to do so, so that you may graduate and pursue your aspirations as planned.

We also thank all of our students for your patience and cooperation as we strive to provide you with a fulfilling learning experience during this extraordinary period. Do continue to remain safe, and we are here to support you as best we can, always.
