PASSPORT & VISA

To be enrolled as an ATI College Malaysian student, you would need to enter Malaysia with a Visa Approval Letter and not a tourist visa. This is very important because if you come in on a tourist visa, you will need to leave and re-enter Malaysia with a Visa Approval Letter before you will be enrolled as an ATI College Malaysian student.

Documents for student pass application

 

To apply for a Student Pass, student must prepare the following documents:-

  1. Acceptance Letter from the college. The letter should contain the following information: date, full name of the student (as per passport), passport number (if possible), student ID number, program, date of enrolment, confirmation that the student is a student from the home college;

  2. Two (2) copies of your passport with Information page, Observation page (showing any extensions, clarifications of name, and previous passport numbers) and all pages containing Visa information. The scanned colour copy must be clear with no enlargements or reductions;

  3. Eight (8) recent passport-sized colour photograph (3.5cm wide x 4.5cm high) with WHITE background. Please see this link for detailed photo specifications;

  4. A copy of latest medical check report.

Validity of student pass and visa

 

The Student Pass is normally valid for one (1) year or less, single or multiple entries visas and has to be extended. Students are advised to submit their passport to International Students’ Affair Officer two (2) months in advance before the expiry date. Students who fail to submit their passport would be consider as overstaying. Overstaying is considering a federal offence and therefore prosecutable in court.

Criteria to extend / Renew student pass and visa

 

  1. Validity of passport (At least another twelve (12) months);

  2. Attendance report should be more than Eighty per cent (80%);

  3. Academic result must be good.

Medical screening

 

New international students are mandated to undergo the following medical screenings in accordance with the requirements of the Malaysian Ministry of Education. In addition, the medical screening results shall be certified in accordance with the medical screening guidelines set by the Ministry.

Overstay penalty

 

1) In the event of overstay less than Seven (7) days:-
    a) Student must write a letter to the Immigration Department to state the reason of lateness to renew student pass;
    b) Student needs to present at the Immigration department with ISA Officer to submit the letter and application form;
    c) Student will receive a warning letter from the Malaysia Immigration Department and any penalties incur will borne by           the student.

2) In the event of overstay more than Seven (7) days:-
    a) Student must write a letter to the Immigration Department to state the reason of lateness to renew Student Pass;
    b) Student needs to present at the Immigration Department with ISA Officer to submit the letter and application form;
    c) Immigration will investigate the student at the Enforcement Department and will issue a special pass to the student.             Student would need to pay for the overstay penalty of
Ringgit Malaysia Thirty Only (RM30) per day.

3) For second offence:-
    a) A fine of
Ringgit Malaysia Ten Thousand Only (RM10,000) plus a jail term will be impose;
    b) Any penalties incur are to borne by the student.
